Five Elements ….Five Emotions

The Emotional Life…

How am I looking after my own emotional needs?

Which emotion do I get stuck in…and what can I do about it?

It is normal to experience a range of emotions every day.

Feelings give richness to our lives, however we all can get stuck in a particular emotion from time to time and need some help to gain perspective and move through it.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine the various emotions are associated with a particular organ and, like everything, contain both a positive and negative psychological aspect.

The Five Elements

It is normal to have an emotional reaction to situations in life, whether it is the joy at the birth of a child to the anxiety of a new job we all cycle through the range of human emotions.

The inner emotional life only becomes a problem when we become stuck in a particular emotion and it starts to develop a momentum of its own which can feel overwhelming.

Different people get stuck with particular emotions. For some people its anger and for others fear or anxiety.

Other people will struggle with staying mentally balanced whilst others deal with depression.

Using acupuncture or herbs we can assist the body to either strengthen relevant organs or release the blockage that is part of emotional pain.

We all have the five elements within us but one will be dominant.

Are you a worrier? Or do you struggle with depression and anger?Perhaps you’re the life of the party but struggle with maintaining mental balance.

By enquiring and getting to know who we are we can work to balance our predominant element and bring forth its best aspects.
