Promoting the free flow of energy…

There is a saying in Chinese Medicine…

“Where there is no passage, there is pain”

According to Chinese Medicine there are three substances that circulate throughout the body:

  • Blood
  • Body Fluids
  • Qi or Energy

If there is a blockage of one or more of these substances we will experience pain.

Much of what we do in the clinic is about encouraging the free flow of energy.

(And much of what the Chinese have discovered about preventative health care such as practicing Tai Chi or doing Qi Gong is about keeping this circulation active)

What has that to do with my sore back?

If your muscles are tight because you have strained them then blood and body energy can’t circulate and this blockage leads to pain.

So, we use massage, cupping, and acupuncture to free things up.

What about if I feel tired and run down?

Sometimes tiredness can be due to a blockage of energy. Some forms of depression are like this.

But in other cases tiredness is due to a lack of energy.

In this case Chinese Medicine has a lot to offer with herbs that strengthen Qi and Blood to build energy.

Herbal medicine is great for strengthening the body in cases of weakness such as this.
