Stress, mood swings and emotional imbalance
Chinese Medicine has much to offer in this area!
- According to Chinese Medicine there is a relationship between the organs and the various emotions.
- We use acupuncture and herbal medicine to balance the body’s systems which can have a profound effect on the mind and emotional life. (see blog post: Five Elements, Five Emotions).
Fertility
In Chinese Medicine fertility is seen as an aspect of overall health and wellbeing.
So whilst your practitioner may focus on specific aspects of the menstrual cycle such as promoting the volume of blood in a menstrual cycle this is part of the bigger picture of strengthening the Blood of the entire body.
This means there can be flow-on effects to other areas effecting moods, sleep and energy levels. Chinese Medicine is always trying to see the details in terms of the wider view.
So, whilst we work on specifics like regulating the cycle, this will be reflected in achieving an overall sense of overall vitality and wellbeing.

Hot flushing, night sweats and mood swings can all be signs of a Kidney inbalance.
Cooling, nourishing herbal formulas are given to moisten and nourish the Kidneys and allow them to successfully oversee this time of change.
Acupuncture can be a great help to help energy to flow and help deal with stress.
Lifestyle issues can be discussed such and diet, exercise and the amount of caffeine intake.
